Sourdough Class - January 18th @10 am at The Sugar Social
Please join us for a 2 hour class to learn how to make sourdough bread from scratch.
During the class, you will create your own bread and go through all the steps including stretch and fold methods, divide and shape, scoring and then how to bake your loaf. This is a hands on class. Typically sourdough bread takes a minimum of 2 days but every single step will be shown and demonstrated in class so everyone can experience and touch each stage.
You will also learn to feed and care for your very own sourdough starter.
We will taste fresh baked sourdough that will be brought to the class.
Students will go home with:
- A mini loaf of baked sourdough.
- A sourdough loaf proofing in their own banneton basket to bake at home the next day.
- Besides the banneton, they also get a dough scraper, a plastic cover, a bowl, a bread lame, and live starter in a ball jar to continue their sourdough journey at home.
- Written directions for the starter process as well the sourdough recipe we will be using in class.
